Profile
Michael has practised law since 2001, acting for clients across a number of practice areas. Before becoming a lawyer, Michael was a secondary school teacher. Upon graduating from law school he spent a year as a Supreme Court Research Assistant, during which time he became very familiar with court processes.
Michael is experienced in family law, bankruptcy and insolvency law and litigation across all jurisdictions. He is also committed to assisting people in our society who are vulnerable and need protection. In the past he has worked as a volunteer with Community Legal Centres in Melbourne and he has successfully handled a number of elder law matters in the Guardianship and Administration List in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Michael also has experience in wills and estates law and trade practices law.
Dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for his clients, Michael understands that litigation is not always the most appropriate way to resolve many legal problems. His awareness of the issues of time, cost, and the need to preserve continuing relationships has increased his practice of alternative forms of dispute resolution such as negotiation and mediation.
Michael’s ability to see through the issues and follow up leads in litigation to achieve the desired outcome is greatly valued by clients.
In his free time, Michael is active in the Anglican Church in Melbourne. He is a parishioner and currently Business Manager at St James' Anglican Church in East St Kilda.
